Vinyl
According to the World Floor Covering Association, there are two types of vinyl flooring: sheet vinyl and vinyl composition tiles (VCT).
Sheet vinyl has been in use for years and is quite user-friendly. Easy to keep clean and known for its endurance, it also has a resistance to moisture and has elasticity when walked upon. VCT has all the advantages of vinyl, is available in a wide color assortment, and can look good anywhere.
Spare vinyl composition tiles can be kept on hand to easily repair worn areas, and the VCT format gives you the ability to create your own specialized patterns. Vinyl flooring technology has advanced so much it is often difficult, if not impossible, to tell the difference between vinyl and real stone and wood grain patterns.
